Make the screen feel right for the space.

Choose background music, video, and themes that complement your signage and the room around it.

Where do I choose background content? Open a TV’s Background Audio/Video settings. Set its mode and pacing in Background Settings, then use Content Selection to choose a theme or custom music and video categories.

Set the mood without losing the message.

Background content can give a reception area, cafe, shop, or shared space a consistent feel between its main messages. Choose audio, video, or both, then set a pace that leaves room for the content visitors came to see.

These are TV presentation settings, separate from the files and connected sources in a slide. Background video appears between slides according to its settings. Background audio can continue through the content rotation, with controls for how it behaves during video playback.

Configure background audio and video

  1. Open the TV settings

In TVs, open the intended TV and its Content & Setup controls. Find Background Audio/Video. Start with one screen before using a TV group.

  2. Enable and choose the mode

Open Background Settings and enable background content. Choose Audio + Video, Audio Only, or Video Only.

  3. Set the video pacing

For a mode that includes video, choose how often background video appears between slides and how long it runs. Keep your notices, offers, and menus visible often enough to do their job.

  4. Set the audio behavior

Review the audio level and choose Mute on Video, Duck on Video, or Always Play. Save the background settings.

  5. Choose the content

Open Content Selection. Choose a theme or use the custom selection for Music Moods and Video Categories. Select Apply Selection.

  6. Save and check the TV

Save or apply the TV form. Give the connected player time to receive the settings and content, then watch a complete rotation on the actual display.

Choose a theme or build a custom selection.

The theme picker brings related music moods and video categories together. Use it as a starting point for the space, then review the actual result. Available themes and catalog content may change.

For a more specific mix, use the custom controls to select Music Moods and Video Categories. Customizing those choices clears the selected theme, so review the selection summary before applying it. Pick content that suits the people and activity in the room.

Choosing content and enabling playback are separate steps. If a selection is saved but nothing plays, check that background content is enabled and that the selected audio/video mode matches the content you chose.

Keep sound comfortable.

Audio behaviorHow to use it
Mute on VideoKeep background music from competing with a video’s own soundtrack.
Duck on VideoReduce background audio during video playback.
Always PlayKeep background audio playing through videos. Check the mix carefully if those videos also have sound.

Check both the app’s audio controls and the physical TV or speaker volume. Listen from the places where customers and staff spend time. A remote screen capture cannot tell you how loud the room is.

Apply a shared look across selected TVs.

Use TV groups when several screens need the same background settings. Review the members and any mixed values before applying the change.

A theme selection can be applied to group members even when background content is disabled on some TVs. Review both the saved selection and the enable setting. Group changes do not create a permanent inheritance rule for future members.

Check a complete content rotation.

  • Confirm that main slides remain readable and get enough screen time.
  • Check when background video appears and when the playlist resumes.
  • Watch a slide with its own audio to confirm the chosen music behavior.
  • Check video smoothness, volume, orientation, and the downloaded content on the actual TV.
  • If content is missing, review the enabled mode, selected theme or categories, connection, and saved TV settings.

For messages that should appear at particular times, use slide and playlist schedules. For an urgent message, use the separate alerts workflow.
