UrbanLoop Signage · Guides

Give every location the right content.

Keep screens, playlists, and people organized as your signage grows from one location to several.

Updated October 15, 2026 · UrbanLoop product guidance

How do sites work in UrbanLoop? Sites organize the locations in your organization and the resources curators can work with. Assign screens and content to the right sites, then choose each TV’s playlists.

Give each location a clear place.

Your organization brings your team, screens, and content together. Sites help you organize the places within it, such as a shop, school, clinic, or office. A single location can start with one site; add more when you need to manage different places or give people access to different content.

Use thisFor this job
OrganizationYour shared account, team, and signage resources.
SiteA location or area used to organize resources and curator access.
TVA screen record linked to an Apple TV and assigned its content.
PlaylistThe content a TV should play, with its order and timing.
TV groupA selection of TVs you can update together.

A site does not choose a playlist for a screen. Review the TV’s playlist assignment as well as its site. Use TV groups when several screens need the same settings.

Set up a site

  1. Open Sites

An organization administrator can open Admin, then Sites. Add a site or open an existing one.

  2. Use a name your team will recognize

Enter the Site Name, such as “Downtown shop” or “North campus.” Add useful notes if needed. Avoid names that only one person understands.

  3. Choose the curators

Use Select Curators to choose the people who should work with this site. Organization administrators already have access across the organization.

  4. Save the site

Choose Save & Exit. Review the saved site before assigning more resources to it.

Put the right resources in the right site.

Open the relevant TV, slide, or playlist and review its site selection. Save the form after changing it. Use the same naming pattern across screens and playlists so the person making an update can tell where it will appear.

For example, a retailer might have a shared product presentation and separate playlists for each shop. A local offer belongs in the relevant shop’s content; a campaign used by every location can be shared more broadly. Keep the TV’s assigned playlists and content schedules aligned with that plan.

Items with no specific site can be shared across sites. The app makes unassigned organization content available as common content. Do not leave something unassigned if you intend it to be specific to one location. When an item is assigned to several sites, review everyone who should be able to use it.

Invite people into the organization

  1. Open Users

An organization administrator can open Admin, then Users, and add a user.

  2. Enter the person’s details

In Invite User, enter the person’s name and email address. Use their own address so they can accept the invitation and manage their login.

  3. Choose a role and sites

Choose orgAdmin for someone responsible for the whole organization, or curator for someone working with content in selected sites. A curator needs at least one site.

  4. Save and check the invitation

Send the invitation through the form and review its status. If needed, use Resend Invitation after confirming that the address is correct. The recipient still needs to complete the invitation flow.

Choose the role that fits the job.

RoleTypical responsibility
Organization administrator (orgAdmin)Set up and link devices, maintain users and sites, and manage resources across the organization.
Curator (curator)Work with content and available resources in assigned sites, including common content. Device linking and organization administration are restricted.

Give people the access they need for their work. A curator who cannot see a resource should ask an administrator to check the site assignment. Creating another account is usually not the answer.

If an invitation says the email is already in use, contact UrbanLoop before changing or deleting an existing account. An account may already belong to another organization or have an unfinished invitation.

Check the setup with a simple update.

  • Confirm each TV is linked to the intended Apple TV and assigned to the right site.
  • Check that its playlist contains the correct local and shared content.
  • Review the site access shown for each curator, including resources with no site assignment.
  • Save the changes, allow the TV to receive them, and check the result with a fresh screen capture.
  • For devices deployed through MDM, review the site mapping in Auto-Sync.

A site name helps people organize their work. It does not replace checking the actual screen and content assignment.

Common questions

Can one organization manage several locations?

Yes. Create sites for the locations, organize their screens and content, and give curators access to the sites they work with.

Why can a curator see an item with no site assigned?

Unassigned resources can be common to the organization. Assign the item to the intended site or sites if it should be location-specific.

Does creating a site put content on its TVs?

No. Add the content to a playlist and assign that playlist to the intended TV. Site selection and playback assignment do different jobs.

Keep shared changes easy to manage.

When several screens need the same adjustment, use TV groups. For dates, weekdays, and campaign windows, see content scheduling.
