UrbanLoop Signage · Integrations

Put your calendar where people can see it.

Show upcoming events and daily schedules on your TVs while your team keeps working in Google Calendar.

Updated October 15, 2026 · UrbanLoop product guidance

Can Google Calendar appear on digital signage? Yes. Connect a calendar in UrbanLoop, choose its view, and add the calendar slide to a playlist assigned to your Apple TV screens.

Keep the next event easy to see.

Turn the calendar your team maintains into a readable schedule for a lobby, staff area, school corridor, or community space. Keep event details in Google Calendar and let UrbanLoop present them alongside your other screen content.

Upcoming events

Make the day’s activities visible to visitors and staff.

Shared spaces

Show the relevant room or venue calendar where people need it.

Community schedules

Keep recurring classes and events in a calendar your team already edits.

Choose a calendar for the screen

  • A Google account that can access the intended calendar.
  • An UrbanLoop management account and a linked Apple TV with an assigned playlist.
  • Events suitable for the people who can see the display.

A dedicated display calendar makes it easier to control what appears. Review event titles and details before using a personal or internal calendar on a public screen.

Connect Google Calendar

  1. Create a Calendar slide

Open Slides in the management app, create a new slide, and select the Calendar tab.

  2. Connect the right Google account

Sign in with the Google account that has access to the calendar. If your organization manages Google Workspace permissions, follow its approval process.

  3. Pick the calendar

Choose Pick a Google Calendar and select the calendar from the list. You can also enter its ID or supported embedding URL in Google Calendar ID and select Load.

  4. Configure and preview

Open Calendar Config to choose the view and layout. Adjust available hours, text scale, and colors for the display. Check the preview using the events you expect to show.

  5. Save and assign

Save the slide, add it to a playlist, and assign that playlist to an active TV. Check the actual screen for readability, event times, and the intended date range.

Choose the view for the space

OptionUse it for
ModeDaily, two-day, three-day, weekly, or business-day views, depending on how far ahead viewers need to see.
LayoutA grid or list presentation, chosen for the screen shape and amount of information.
HoursThe relevant daily time range where supported by the selected layout.
Skip weekendsAvailable for applicable short-range modes when the screen should focus on working days.
Text scale and colorsReadable event text and a useful distinction between normal and all-day events.

Choose a view that people can read at the normal viewing distance. A full week may suit a large wall display; a shorter view or list can make a smaller screen easier to scan.

Edit events in Google Calendar

UrbanLoop refreshes the connected calendar automatically. The form shows the refresh cadence for your account; new or edited events need time to reach active TVs. Refresh depends on account access, processing, and connectivity.

Calendar events and playlist schedules do different jobs. Editing an event changes the calendar content. To decide when the calendar slide participates in a screen’s rotation, use UrbanLoop content scheduling.

Access and ownership

The connector uses the connected Google account’s access. You do not normally need to publish the calendar publicly. If a calendar is missing from the picker, check that the connected account can access it in Google Calendar and that Workspace policy allows the connection.

A calendar slide can be tied to the Google authorization of the user who created it. If the form says another user created the calendar and editing is disabled, ask that owner or your administrator to review the connection instead of repeatedly changing accounts.

If the calendar does not look right

  • No calendars listed: check the connected Google account, its calendar access, and Google sign-in status.
  • ID will not load: verify the calendar ID or supported embedding URL; an unrelated calendar webpage link may not identify the intended source.
  • Events missing: review the view, selected date/time range, weekend settings, and source calendar.
  • Times look wrong: check the event’s time zone and the TV/location configuration, then test on the physical screen.
  • Updates not on the TV: save the slide, check playlist assignment and schedules, confirm the display app is active, and allow the refresh cycle to finish.

Common questions

Can I show a shared Google Calendar?

Yes, when the Google account connected to UrbanLoop has access to that calendar. Select the intended shared calendar and check its preview.

Does it have to be public?

No. The usual setup uses Google sign-in and the connected account’s permissions. Use a calendar whose contents are appropriate for the screen’s audience.

Can it play alongside images, video, or Google Slides?

Yes. Add the calendar slide and other supported content to your playlist. Use durations and schedules that give viewers enough time to read the calendar.

Can I use the same calendar on several TVs?

Yes. Use the calendar slide in playlists assigned to the relevant TVs. Check the layout and local time on each type of display.
